Italian energy company Enel, specialists in renewable energy, completed its main wind farm in France's Champagne-Ardenne region, the subsidiary company Enel Green Power said Tuesday.
Enel started operating six turbines with a total capacity of 12 megawatts at the La Druine site, which completes its main 30 MW wind farm project in the country, the company said in a statement.
The Vallee d'Arce wind farm will produce over 75 million kilowatts hours per year, enough to meet the annual energy needs of over 22,000 households.
"In 2009 we put in operation eight new wind farms for a total installed capacity of 60 MW and we confirmed our objective to expand substantially in France," said Francesco Starace, president of Enel Green Power.
