At least 60 people were killed overnight in eastern Ethiopia by raging floods following torrential rains that pounded the region, medical officials said Sunday.
"So far we have received 60 bodies, more bodies are still coming. Search and rescue officials are still digging and I am afraid the toll may rise during the day," a medical official told AFP from Dire Dawa, about 500 kilometres (300 miles) east of the capital, Addis Ababa.
