A quake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale struck between Colombia and Venezuela on Friday, geologists said. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

The temblor occurred at 8:41 am (1341 GMT), some 270 kilometers (170 miles) southeast of the Colombian city of Maicao, though its epicenter was located in Venezuela, the Colombian geological service said.

Shocks were also felt in the cities of Cucuta and Bucaramanga, according to local media reports.
