A young woman was killed and three other civilians were wounded late Thursday in an Israeli air strike near the eastern Lebanese town of Baalbek, a day after a commando raid captured five alleged Hezbollah militants, police said.
The woman was killed and her brother and two other residents were wounded when missiles slammed into two houses in Buday, west of Baalbek.
Moments earlier, Israeli jets destroyed a house in the east of Baalbek, police said without giving details on casualties.
Israel carried out an airborne commando operation near Baalbek on Wednesday, the deepest ground incursion into Lebanon since the Jewish state launched its offensive on its northern neighbor on July 12 when Hezbollah captured two soldiers to secure a prisoner swap.
