Six people were killed and two others were missing and feared dead as Tropical Storm Prapiroon left the Philippines and headed for northern Vietnam, civil defense officials said Wednesday.
Three people drowned, two people were killed by lightning and one was crushed by a falling tree in the north of the main island of Luzon, the civil defense office said.
Two people, including a two-year-old girl, were still missing after being swept away by floodwaters, it said.
At least five towns in northern Luzon remained flooded due to the heavy rains that came just after Typhoon Kaemi brought continuous downpours to much of the same parts of the country late last month.
Prapiroon was moving northwest towards northern Vietnam, the US military's pacific storm monitoring service said.
