"High-performance GPS clocks provide an accurate, local solution for synchronization," said Dennis Workman, Trimble's senior director of timing. "Trimble's experience and core GPS competency as well as high-volume chipset applications allow the company to bring this capability to market at a very low-cost to the end user."

Trimble's Palisade NTP is designed as a secure and independent reference clock for existing or new system installations. It works with Network Time Protocol, the leading standard for internet time distribution and offers precision clock synchronization to developers and integrators working with distributed data base and transaction servers.

The Palisade NTP leverages an existing server and doesn't interfere with network activities. Most importantly, Trimble's unique TimeTrigger technology allows the host computer to precisely determine its offset from Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), without degradation due to system load. As systems grow more complex and businesses expand worldwide, the Palisade NTP offers a global solution.

The kit is a plug-and-play solution that is easy to install and maintain. It is ideal for information technology specialists who require a local time service for their network clients, or system integrators and value added resellers who want to offer a timing source as an addition to their product line. The Palisade NTP Synchronization Kit is available now through Trimble's sales organization.
