SES NEW SKIES has announced that Satlynx has agreed to a multi-year deal for the provision of 20 Mbps on the Africa IPsys/DVB platform aboard the NSS-10 satellite at the orbital position of 322.5 degrees East.

Satlynx is a GE (General Electric) company specialising in two-way satellite broadband communication services. IPsysis a service from SES NEW SKIES that directly connects the Points of Presence (PoPs) or customer premises of remote ISPs to the global internet backbone via satellite.

"This was a great opportunity for us to secure scarce capacity over a key region for Satlynx," commented Christian Stetter, VP Sales, Satlynx, "We are now able to deliver services to both our enterprise customers wanting to do business in Africa as well as Internet Service Providers who offer connectivity locally."
