Russia plans to launch eight satellites and two intercontinental ballistic missiles from the Plesetsk Space Center in the country's north, a Russian Space Forces official said Tuesday.
These figures were reported during First Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Belousov's inspection of the space center, which began on Monday, the official said.
One of the main goals of Belousov's visit to Plesetsk is to assess the effectiveness of military command units in implementing the federal program, "Developing Russian Space Centers in 2006-2015."
Colonel General Belousov attended a briefing by the head of the space center, Anatoly Bashlakov, on the progress of the center's operations and on the implementation of the federal program.
