Orbcomm has introduced six satellite communication products – called subscriber communicators (SC) – that enable industry and individuals to transmit or receive data messages messages via Orbcomm's growing fleet of LEO satellites.

"The introduction of these six new products is a significant step

towards commercial service," said Scott L. Webster, Chairman and Chief

Executive Officer of Orbcomm. "Getting our satellites in place is only

one step in the process of creating a new type of communications

service; that process includes developing new tools and cutting-edge

software and hardware to bring those satellites to life. The Orbcomm

engineers, through hard work and technical expertise, have met that

challenge and deserve the credit for this achievement."

The new Orbcomm products include:

Orbcomm QuickStart Kit(SM) – The QuickStart Kit is an

end-to-end product providing immediate Orbcomm capability. QuickStart

includes QuickApp(SM), which enables users to receive, unpack, store,

access, graphically display and view Orbcomm messages and to remotely

configure QuickSensor(SM) to suit specific application needs.

QuickStart comes equipped with QuickSensor firmware to interface

sensors with the SC and an optional SC and whip antenna. QuickStart

also includes a training course with classroom and hands-on sessions,

a self-guided on-line training course and a toll-free support service

line.

Orbcomm RoadWarrior(SM) – The RoadWarrior is an integrated

communications package featuring the Panasonic KX-G7001 Subscriber

Communicator with Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities. It is

designed for use in demonstration of the Orbcomm System, applications

development and applications testing. RoadWarrior comes complete with

the components necessary to start transmission over the Orbcomm System

immediately. The RoadWarrior package includes a power supply,

antennae, carrying case, cables and connectors.

Orbcomm QuickSensor(SM) – The QuickSensor manages the interface

between sensors and SCs, which reduces the time to develop custom

applications. The QuickSensor includes a controller and core module

that provides a variety of inputs, outputs and interfaces for initial

prototype development of monitoring and tracking applications.

QuickSensor can be remotely programmed with over-the-air configuration

messages, allowing rapid changes in functionality without remote site

visits.

ORBMail +(SM) – ORBMail + is a wireless personal messaging

application that allows Orbcomm SC customers to send and receive

real-time e-mail through the Internet using the Orbcomm System.

ORBMail + is an application for Windows 95, and allows users to

maintain an address book for e-mail, Speed Dial or GlobalGram(SM)

entries, and verify the operation of the SC.

Orbcomm Office Server(SM) – The Office Server enables Orbcomm

SC customers to quickly and cost-effectively access critical data

without setting up servers, firewalls and dedicated Internet access

for demonstrations and beta trials of the Orbcomm System. Using the

Orbcomm Office Server, demonstrations of Orbcomm satellite

communications can be easily created and customized via a web page

dedicated expressly for the customer. The Office Server creates a

unique URL for each customer demonstration and will support up to

30,000 simultaneous Orbcomm SCs.

Orbcomm Interrogator(SM) – The Orbcomm Interrogator is a

configuration and debugging tool designed to diagnose installation and

setup problems associated with Orbcomm SCs. The Interrogator was

developed to run on either Windows CE or Windows 95. The

Interrogator's interface provides a one-button system test that will

test all the functionality of the SC and provide the technician with a

"Go" or "No Go" response. The Interrogator also allows technicians to

easily make changes to SC configuration parameters and send two-way

messages between the field and the home office.

Orbcomm is a mobile satellite service provider offering

high-value, two-way data and messaging communications globally through

international service licensees and in the U.S. through value-added

resellers and direct sales. Orbcomm applications include monitoring of

fixed assets such as electric utility meters, pipelines, storage

tanks, and heavy equipment; tracking of mobile assets such as

trailers, railcars and shipping containers; and two-way message

communications in the consumer, commercial and government markets.
