Israel's Elbit Systems has reached an agreement with two Polish companies to build unmanned reconnaissance aircraft in Poland, for use by the emergency services, Polish defence equipment manufacturer Bumar said Tuesday.

The aircraft, also known as drones, will be built under the terms of an agreeement signed between Bumar and the RADWAR Scientific-Industrial Centre of Porfessional Electronics.

"This is a cooperation agreement covering production of drones in Poland under licence to Elbit," Bumar said in a statement.

"The aircraft produced in Poland will be earmarked for the Polish army, police, border police and fire brigade," the statement said.

A spokeswoman for Bumar, Roma Sarzynska, told AFP that the models produced in Poland would be mainly Skylark I, Skylark II and Hermes-450. She declined to give any further details of the agreement.
