Globecomm Systems Thursday announced that the Company has entered into a one-year broad-based voice over Internet Protocol ("VoIP") reciprocal services agreement with Afghan Telecom to provide international voice origination and termination.
Under the terms of the agreement, which is renewable on an annual basis, Globecomm will provide toll-quality international voice services utilizing the latest VoIP technology available in the marketplace to ensure efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
The Company will terminate calls originating from Afghanistan to anywhere in the world and terminate calls into Afghanistan that originate from certain international carriers.
The services will utilize the telecommunications systems being built by Globecomm under certain portions of the previously announced $32.5 Million in contracts with the Afghan Ministry of Communications ("MOC").
