Ecosphere Technologieshas announced that it has completed another environmentally friendly coating removal project for BAE Systems at its San Francisco Ship Repair facility. Ecosphere through its wholly owned subsidiary, UltraStrip Envirobotic Solutions, removed the hull coatings on the USNS Rainier T-AOE7, a naval support ship.

The agreement with BAE Systems is a five-year contract agreement for coating removal services using UltraStrip's high speed magnetically attached patented waterjetting robots.

Stephen R. Johnson, President of UltraStrip Envirobotic Solutions said, "We are continuing our work with BAE Systems to provide environmentally friendly, cost effective, and timely coating removal services. We are proud to follow our success on the USNS Kaiser with this performance on the USNS Rainier.

UltraStrip's patented magnetic air gap waterjetting robots eliminated more than 750,000 lbs. of abrasive purchase, clean-up, and disposal costs on the "Rainier." In using our technology and combining the last two vessels, we have saved in excess of 1,600,000 lbs of industrial waste from entering land fills and polluting the air.

Our robotic systems continue to be validated by naval ships completed under our agreement with BAE Systems. We look forward to increasing the number of ships we complete and to the sale of our robotic systems to ship yards located around the world."
