Editorial Team

The Energy Daily Editorial Team produces Energy Daily's coverage of the global energy industry. We report on oil and gas, power grids and utilities, energy markets and policy, and the renewables and storage reshaping how the world is powered. Articles reflect our team's collective editorial process, source verification, drafting, technical review, and editing, rather than a single writer's work. Energy Daily takes editorial responsibility for content under this byline. For more on how we work, see our editorial policy.

A Step Nearer To Understanding Superconductivity

Paris, France (SPX) Jun 11, 2007 - Transporting energy without any loss, travelling in magnetically levitated trains, carrying out medical imaging (MRI) with small-scale equipment: all these things could come true if we had superconducting materials that worked at room temperature. Today, researchers at CNRS have taken another step forward on the road leading to this ultimate goal. They have revealed the metallic nature of a class of so-called critical high-temperature superconducting materials.

Researchers Eye Wireless Power Invention

Chicago (AFP) Jun 07, 2007 - Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) researchers said Thursday they have developed a wireless energy transfer technology that could ensure wireless devices are always charged up and ready to go. The team at MIT, one of the top US academic laboratories for new inventions, has roadtested the fledgling technology and shown that it can power a 60 watt bulb from a power source two meters (7 feet) away.
