Americom Government Services announced that it has been selected by the General Services Administration (GSA) to offer satellite-based connections, networks, and applications to all federal agencies under the SATCOM-II program. AGS qualified to deliver domestic, regional and global bandwidth and mission-critical solutions under the umbrella of the five-year $750 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract.
GSA's SATCOM-II program enables all U.S. federal civilian and defense agencies to procure a broad range of satellite solutions. AGS qualified in three of the four service categories outlined by the GSA. Federal agencies can arrange for bandwidth and connectivity by using the SES Americom fleet of 15 spacecraft plus have access to the other 21 satellites in the SES global fleet.
In addition, agencies can take advantage of AGS's expertise in IP-based solutions and platforms for distance learning, telemedicine, continuity of operations and streaming video. AGS may design, engineer, configure, and install customized networks, as well as to provide training, maintenance and operational support for all delivered services.
