Vela Solaris AG has announced the launch of their Polysun family of products in the United States. The Polysun family is the world's most flexible and accurate software for the simulation and design of renewable energy systems optimized for any particular site and structure.

While other software programs are based on fixed inflexible templates, Polysun takes input for variables in building design, energy system components, and climactic variables to create a highly accurate energy analysis and system design that can be tailored to any site and structure.

"Vela Solaris is passionate about making the implementation of solar and geothermal systems as straightforward, accurate and efficient as possible," said Simon Geisshuesler, chief marketing officer of Vela Solaris.

"As federal programs in the United States become more aggressive and funding is more readily available, the need for a superior product that offers the most accurate and cost effective energy efficiency reading possible is of upmost importance. We are thrilled to be entering the US market with the best solution on the market."

The Polysun family includes three product lines: Polysun PV targeting photovoltaics (PV), Polysun ST targeting solar thermal and Polysun HP targeting geothermal ground loop and heat pump systems.

Polysun enables system designers, installers, planners, manufacturers, and other users to design an optimized system for their site, calculate energy and carbon savings, and generate accurate ROI reports for cost analysis. Polysun also produces reports with the data needed to obtain state and federal energy tax rebates.

Each family of Polysun products can be purchased in three different configurations with feature sets tailored to the needs of different types of users: Polysun Light, Polysun Professional and Polysun Designer.

Polysun Light is a cost efficient solution targeted at homeowners and people interested in calculating the energy potential and cost savings for their home with a small investment in software. The user selects from pre-designed building blocks and exchange components such as the collector and the accumulator.

Solar gain can be generated in just minutes, and the calculation will serve as a valid receipt for current government subsidies. Polysun Light is also offered in an enterprise version targeting manufacturers and solar system distributors. The generated reports serve as powerful sales tools demonstrating the energy and cost savings to home owners thinking about buying the hardware.

Polysun Pro targets the designers of solar plants and has several additional components for plant optimization, which can be designed in and added to customize the program to individual user's needs.

Polysun Designer targets the designers and planners of very complex solar and geothermal installations. The program allows the user to arbitrarily combine and simulate hydraulic solar plants and calculate solar gain for these complex systems. Construction scheduling for complicated solar plants is included, and the risk of a false dimension is greatly reduced while plant optimization is greatly enhanced.

All Polysun products make the design of solar thermal, PV and geothermal systems simple and professional.

The software takes into account data from building geometry and orientation, domestic hot water consumer profiles and a variety of other loads – with a complete year dynamic simulation – providing reliable yield forecasts that generate a much more precise read of what the energy efficiency will be and an accurate return on investment.

Additionally, they offer the most comprehensive climatological database, with more than 8,000 weather station data points, making the Polysun system more accurate than any other program available.

Polysun products also have a brand database of different manufacturer components that is far more extensive than those available with any other product. This feature automates the steps for the system designer to select products best suited for a particular site and results in the most optimized and accurate system possible.
