Saab will deliver 27 Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear test kits to the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency later this year after winning a European Union procurement, the company said Wednesday.

The CBRN system protects people and secures operational capabilities, Saab said in a statement.

The system provides tools for early detection and identification of such threats.

Saab will also help the government evaluate and integrate its capabilities to respond to the threat of such attacks, the company said.

The company's CBRN solutions include automatic warning and reporting systems, sampling equipment, transport packaging and training and support for protection of individuals.

The testing equipment will be used by the civil agency in large metropolitan areas, company officials said, with the first delivery slated for September.
