In a move to better serve its commercial and large scale utility market customers requiring higher solar power generation, Aide Solar has announced the release of its Quasi-mono module portfolio, comprised of 21 additional models, which is based on advanced cell technology. Available in both 60 and 72 cell designs, with power ratings ranging from 230 – 320 watts, the new modules have completed UL certification and are available for release in the U.S. market.
"This addition to our portfolio allows us to expand our product offering for the large scale utility market with module sizes greater than 300 watts," said Raymond Wiley, director, Aide Solar U.S.A.
"With more power per square meter, the Aide Solar Quasi-mono modules provide our customers with a product ideal for utility ground-mount or tracker solar installations."
Aide Solar's Quasi-mono modules' surface color is uniform and has up to 4% higher conversion efficiency at the module level than traditional polycrystalline with comparable manufacturing costs.
"Large PV systems above 1MW became a huge part of the PV industry in 2011, particularly in the utility sectors. These sized projects are set to outpace the rest of the industry and achieve significant growth in 2012 and beyond. In fact, we predict large systems' market size to more than double by 2015," said Sam Wilkinson, senior market research analyst for photovoltaics at IMS Research.
"Having products well suited to these types of installations could prove to be a very successful strategy."
