Northrop Grumman has been awarded a contract to provide hardware in support of detection systems used by the U.S. Navy.
The deal, announced Thursday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $88.8 million and is a modification to a previous award under the terms of a fixed-price-incentive-firm contract.
The agreement enables Northrop Grumman to provide 96 processors, 439 antenna detectors, 278 radar receivers, 102 low band arrays, 176 battery handle assemblies, 19 circuit card assemblies and other versions of similar equipment, according to a Pentagon press release.
Additionally, the contract provides an option for "technical engineering, logistics and management services to fabricate, assemble, test and deliver AN/APR-39 C/D(V)2 systems."
The Northrop Grumman technology is a dual-purpose system that would provide the Navy and Army with radar warning receivers and an electronic warfare management system that is used to improve situational awareness for aircrews through onboard sensors and countermeasures.
Work on the contract will occur in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Colorado and other locations across the continental United States, and is expected to be completed by August 2020.
The total amount of the contract will be obligated to Northrop Grumman at the time of award from Navy fiscal 2016, 2017 and 2018 aircraft procurement, Army fiscal 2017 and 2018 aircraft procurement, and Navy working capital funds.
$1,630 will expire at the end of the current fiscal year, according to the Defense Department.
Harris to provide electronic countermeasures to Navy, Australia

Harris has been awarded a contract for 86 Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures for F/A-18 aircraft for the U.S. Navy and Australian government.
The deal, announced Thursday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $161 million and is a modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract.
The agreement provides for an option for 86 full-rate production lot 15 Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures AN/ALQ-214 A(V)4/5 Onboard Jammer systems for the F/A-18 aircraft, according to the Pentagon.
The onboard jammer system is designed to counter radio frequency guided threats and provide the aircraft crew with greater situational awareness.
Additionally, the contract taps Harris to provide eight WRA1 A(V)4 receiver and processors, along with seven WRA2 A(V)4 modulators.
Work will occur in New Jersey, California and several other locations around the United States, and is expected to be completed in May 2021.
The total contract amount will be obligated to Harris at the time of award from Navy fiscal 2018 aircraft procurement and foreign military sale funds, the Defense Department said. The funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.
