Cape Canaveral – June 9, 1999 – Bad weather scrubbed a Delta 2 launch of a Globalstar batch of four this morning at Cape Canaveral again following Tuesday morning's scrub on the first launch attempt. Boeing is aiming for another attempt Thursday morning at 9.48 when a three minute window opens.

Cape Canaveral – June 8, 1999 – Officials scrubbed today's launch of a Boeing Delta II rocket carrying four satellites for the Globalstar communications system due to inclement weather.
The launch team will make another attempt tomorrow. The three-minute window opens at 10:04:51 a.m. EDT.
Live television coverage of the launch is planned. Coordinates are: Telstar 5, transponder 19, 12053 Mhz. Media wishing to view the launch must meet at Pass and ID at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
This is the first of four Boeing Delta II launches in a three-month period for Space Systems/Loral and the Globalstar satellite telephony system.
Cape Canaveral – June 2, 1999 – The first of four Boeing Delta 2 launches in a three month period for the Globalstar satellite telephony system is aiming for a minute window on June 8 opening at 10:20:50 am.
Boeing will utilize a scaled-down, two-stage version of the Delta II rocket, to place four satellites into orbit with each launch. Globalstar currently has 20 satellites in orbit.
The first eight spacecraft were launched on two Delta launch vehicles on February 14 and April 24, 1998 from Pad A at Space Launch Complex 17, CCAS. The June launch will take place from Pad B also located at SLC-17.
Utilizing both pads at the Florida launch site, the Delta launch team is scheduled to place 16 satellites into orbit in less than 90 days. Globalstar announced the accelerated launch schedule in April.
With a minimum of 32 satellites in orbit, Globalstar can begin offering commercial service, according to officials at the San Jose, Calif., communications company.
Boeing has a total of five Delta II launches scheduled in support of Globalstar, with the fifth slated for the fourth quarter of this year.
