Blue Sky Network has announced that its portable Bluetooth device, HawkEyeLink, now supports access and transmission of electronic forms.
HawkEyeLink enables two-way messaging on smartphone and tablet devices via the Iridium satellite network and works in conjunction with Blue Sky Network's D1000.
The new feature is an industry-first, enabling users to access, edit and transmit dynamic electronic forms on an iPad while in the air through the Iridium network.
With the upgrade, the HawkEyeLink serves as an extension to electronic flight bag (EFB) capabilities and enables fleet operators to instantly send electronic forms from an iPad directly to Blue Sky Network's cloud-based web portal, New SkyRouter.
By allowing fleet operators to build and fully customize forms – such as flight plans, weight and balance, and flight manifest – HawkEyeLink supports the industry's movement towards paperless fleet operations.
"With the HawkEyeLink, we are moving toward the reality of a paperless cockpit while streamlining inefficiencies through advanced cloud technology and communication features," said Jon Gilbert, CEO and founder of Blue Sky Network.
"A paper-free fleet has been a long-term goal of ours. We are supporting this mission with the new HawkEyeLink upgrades, which are a natural extension to the electronic flight bag, enabling customers to access and transmit critical flight information through commonly used mobile devices via the Iridium network."
Blue Sky Network is a principal supplier of satellite tracking and communication solutions for the aviation, land mobile and marine industries.
