Framatome and TechnicAtome have finalized the acquisition of Segault SAS from Canada-based Velan Inc., bringing a historic French valve manufacturer under their shared ownership. The move strengthens both companies' capabilities across civil nuclear power and defense sectors, where Segault's engineering plays a critical role. While adopting a refreshed visual brand, Segault will continue operating under its long-established name.

Established in 1921 and headquartered near Paris, Segault has built a reputation for producing robust, high-performance valves engineered for harsh and demanding environments. Its products are integrated into the reactor buildings of around 25 percent of nuclear power plants in operation globally, as well as into the nuclear propulsion systems aboard submarines and France's flagship aircraft carrier, the Charles de Gaulle.

"We are both delighted and proud to welcome Segault to Framatome. Segault is a key supplier to the nuclear industry, renowned for its expertise in providing valves that meet stringent safety and security requirements," said Bernard Fontana, CEO of Framatome. "This acquisition is part of our growth strategy and will secure the supply chain for our customers. By integrating these key competencies, we are bolstering our industrial sovereignty and our capacity to meet the critical needs of our sectors of activity. The acquisition of Segault reinforces Framatome's valves product line."

Loic Rocard, CEO of TechnicAtome, added: "Our relationship with Segault is longstanding as their specialized expertise aligns perfectly with our needs. With this acquisition, we are continuing our efforts to strengthen the supply chain for nuclear propulsion and French deterrence."
