Cameron Eyes Mir Adventure
Moscow - Sept. 25, 2000 James Cameron, director of the Oscar- winning hit movie Titanic, is planning a space journey up to the Russian space station Mir. Cameron has already undergone a medical examination at the Russian Institute for Medical and Biological Problems, and was okayed by the doctors to undertake a space mission at the end of the summer, a source in space-related circles has told Interfax. This source said Cameron is planning a long mission on Mir, but has not yet inked a contract with the Russian rocket and space corporation Energiya. The source said he assumed that Cameron has become interested in the future of Mir. The station's further operation or its plummeting into the Pacific will be again be considered in the coming months.
