Atlas Wins Hispasat 1C Ride

company has chosen the Lockheed Martin/International Launch Services' Atlas IIAS to lift the firm's Hispasat 1C satellite into orbit, ILS announced Monday in San Diego, Calif. Aerospatiale Espace of France will build the spacecraft, which is to be launched from Cape Canaveral Air Station in Florida in late 1999.The satellite is to be inserted into final geostationary orbit and will join the previous Hispasat 1A and 1B, providing direct to home television services. SpaceCast learned late Monday that the contract award marks the first Hispasat launch contract for ILS, adding a new customer to the firm's clientele. Satellite Launch To Boost DTH In India
