Tehran, Aug 1, 2006 Iran's parliament speaker Gholam-Ali Hadad-Adel branded as "worthless" a UN resolution that demands the Islamic republic halt sensitive nuclear work, the ISNA news agency reported Tuesday. "While the (UN) Security Council does not dare to condemn the Qana massacre (in south Lebanon) ... it feels alarmed by Iran's nuclear activities and adopts a resolution that is worthless in the eyes of people," he was quoted as saying. In a resolution adopted Monday, the United Nations gave Iran until August 31 to halt its controversial nuclear enrichment activities.
