by Staff Writers
Tyre, Lebanon (AFP) Jul 31, 2006
Hezbollah guerrillas fired a missile on an Israeli warship off the coast of the southern port city of Tyre on Monday, police said.

Hezbollah's military arm, the Islamic Resistance, claimed in a statement that its guerrillas had "destroyed a Zionist warship ... off Tyre."

Hezbollah had vowed revenge following the killing of 52 people, most of them women and children, in an Israeli air raid on the village of Qana on Sunday.
