Thales, the France-based conglomerate, has opened new offices in Oman as a result of increased business in the sultanate and regional opportunities.

The offices are at the Al Tilal Complex, in the Muscat Grand Mall, and have been operational since the beginning of this year, it said.

Thales, which has been doing business with Oman for 35 years, established Thales Oman in 2010 and currently has a number of operations in the country. It has two sites at or near Muscat Airport, one at Wudam Naval Base and an additional site to serve the sultanate's land forces.

The new offices will increase local operational capabilities and serve security, ground transportation and aerospace projects.

"The Sultanate of Oman is one of the pillars of Thales's history in the Middle East," said Marc Duflot, Thales vice president, Middle East. "The successes we have had here, across many of our business areas, have allowed us to become a trusted partner in the Sultanate both in the defense and civil domains.

"By further consolidating our local presence and by boosting our local talent pool, we intend to support of the economic development of the sultanate for the foreseeable future, as we have been doing since we began work here."
