OneRoof Energy has announced that a subsidiary of GDF SUEZ Energy North America ("GSENA"), a unit of global energy group GDF SUEZ, has purchased a minority position in OneRoof Energy, and agreed to explore development of new products and customer acquisition strategies. GSENA is investing in OneRoof Energy due to its scalable business model and direct access to US homeowners. OneRoof Energy believes that GSENA's broad industry knowledge will support OneRoof Energy in providing simple, affordable solar financing options to more Americans. GSENA has been active in North America for more than 40 years and brings clean, safe, reliable energy to customers and communities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. As a seasoned operator of environmentally sound, flexible power generation plants and distribution, GSENA manages a range of energy-related businesses, including a leading retail energy provider via its GDF SUEZ Energy Resources and Think Energy brands. GSENA and OneRoof Energy plan to explore development of new products and customer acquisition strategies initially on the East Coast where GSENA is an active participant in deregulated markets. "We are thrilled to welcome GSENA as an investor in OneRoof Energy. The company's leadership in deregulated energy markets will help drive our strategy forward and support OneRoof Energy as it enters new markets," said David Field, president and chief executive officer, OneRoof Energy. "With the possible addition of GSENA as a joint marketing participant, we anticipate offering our SolarSelect lease to thousands of additional homeowners across the country, enabling them to embrace solar energy as a viable alternative to rising electricity bills."
