China lends four bln dlrs to Turkmenistan: report
Ashgabat (AFP) June 24, 2009 China has granted Turkmenistan a four- billion-dollar (2.9-billion-euro) loan for its gas sector and will receive additional supplies of Turkmen gas, the state television said on Wednesday. "Turkmenistan and China have signed a deal on a credit of four bilion dollars as part of a meeting between Chinese Vice Premier Li Keqiang and Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov," the report said. China and Turkmenistan also signed a deal for an additional 10 billion cubic metres of Turkmen gas to be pumped to China by the end of this year through a 7,000-kilometre (4,350-mile) pipeline between the two countries.
